Walmart.com never fixed their error & would not contact us as promised - Walmart.com orders

I ordered an ipod shuffle in green for my daughter for Christmas on Walmart.com. They chose to send yellow instead. I sent in 3 letters asking them to correct this error. Each time they responded that someone would contact me within 24-48 hours. I have not been contacted on this problem yet. I ordered it in mid November. The return policy was about to run out, so I returned it at my local Walmart. The local Walmart REFUSED to "EXCHANGE" it without charging me an additional $6 plus additional tax. This just adds insult to injury. I am not seeing any concern for customer care in any way, shape or form. What does it take for me to get this taken care of the way it should have been in the first place? I have lost all belief in their system and have been told that that is the way that Walmart.com always handles things. The customer complaints about Walmart.com are very common according to the Service Counter in my local Walmart. I will make sure to share this with all my family and friends and not shop with there for any future Christmas purchases. The biggest question is, do they even care? As I hear their laughter from here, I conclude that customer care is not first priority.
