Appalled by The Suite Life on Deck - Suite Life on Deck

I was recently watching The Suite Life on Deck with my younger cousin. I believe we were watching a re-run of the pilot episode. I was absolutely appalled by what I saw. The female character Bailey was pretending to be a male and when asked by the male character Zach what her girlfriend was like, she responded: "intelligent" to which Zach responded Woof! Woof! Implying that she must be ugly if intelligent or that if a male chooses to describe his girlfriend as intelligent than it must be because she is ugly. I cannot believe that in 2009 such a remark would be made on TV, especially in a show targeted at Tweens and on the Disney Channel. I am a huge supporter of Disney, but I am completely outraged by this comment. This type of comment reinforces negative stereotypes on what make a woman desirable to men and worthwhile. I am really disappointed in the Disney Channel.
