Traveling & Tourism

They made me an offer that sounded too good to be true. And of course, it was.

Both my wife and I received the offer, a cruise, Orlandao Beach, Nassau Bahams, a free car rental, a Mexican holiday and a Los Vegas holiday. I called right away.

The deal seemed terrific. We do a fair amount of travelling, and would welcome the opportunity to get a great price on several different holidays. Everything seemed great, as well as the bottom line - $698 US per person. And I had up to 18 months to book all these holidays.

I was ready to sign up, but I said that I wanted a day to think about it, and to check them out on the net to make sure that they were legitimate. The sales lady was so friendly that I almost felt embarrassed saying that I wanted to check them out. That stopped them cold. I couldn't check them out - I had to sign up right away.

Then they sweetened the pot. I was upgraded; the hotel would now be all inclusive - all meals would be included. And I could have up to 3 years to choose. And a couple more bonuses (I was writing so fast that I can't read my writing). When I still insisted on time to think about it, she put me on to a supervisor, who was surprised that I would have to think about spending $2000 Canadian. I felt a little frustrated when I confirmed that I did not want the deal if I couldn't check them out first. I obviously had not checked this web site yet. My wife was disappointed, and wondered if I was making a mistake in not jumping at the deal.

A couple of days later I got a call from the "super supervisor", who said that he had a report that I was concerned about the price (which was not the issue). He confirmed that I could get all the upgrades, then, offered a better price - $498 for me, and $398 for my wife. Almost $500 Canadian in savings. I was certain of only one thing - this had to be a rip off, and I declined.

I decided to check them out, just to see if my feelings were right, and I came to this website, with over 500 complaints aout the company.

Although everyone was friendly throughout the process, there were out and out lies. When I asked about how I had been chosen for the promotion, and mentioned that I had stayed at Ramada hotels before, she indicated that they had received a referal from Ramada. This is untrue - the name I travelled under is different than the name on my voucher.
