On november the 19th 2003 I booked on the internet an Hotel at Cheapestdeal.com.
I am living in the Netherlands and I booked an hotel in New York for dec 12 to dec 16. The internet company made the same evening an overseas telephonecontact to confirm the booking with me.
Three weeks later I wanted to cancel the booking (I found a better hotel). After several attemps by phone I managed to make contact with the company. I spoke to Mr. Darren and he said that the cancelling was no problem. I would get my money back.

But there was no refund in december. Then I tried to make contact with them in januari 2004 but nobody answered the phone. Than after numerous attempts I spoke to Mr. Darren. He said that I had to "dispute the charge" with my own bank. Secondly he said that the company had "problems with their former bank and this caused the delays in refunding."
I made contact with Mastercard in my own country but Mastercard wrote me that they dispute charges only within 30 days after booking. Mastercard told me that Cheapestdeal had the responsibillity to book the money back on my account.

Again after numerous attemps by phone in februari and march I spoke into the answeringmachine of Cheapest Deal. I explained that I could not dispute the charge at Mastercard.

Then in may to my surprise, Mrs. Rose of Cheapestdeal called me. She confirmed my cancelled booking and said that I just had to dispute the charge, again I explained that this was not possible due European Creditcard regulations and I asked them just to book my money on my creditcardaccount. Mrs Rose promised to call me back.

But... Naughing happens, my money ad $ 392,00 is still somewhere at Cheapestdeal.com...
