Ticket

I am preparing to return to London to defend my PhD. I contacted CheapOAir and wanted a changeable ticket. I entered a chat with their agent who assured me that, for approx $100 more, I could have such a ticket. I purchased a ticket of approx $1,000 with insurance included and the assurance I could change my dates. I did need to change the dates. When I called to do so, I was informed there would be a $250 penalty. (This is not what I was initially promised.) In addition, the "supervisor" who got on the phone was extremely rude. I asked for a higher manager and he took a week to resolve the matter. When he did, he indicated that US Airways would provide a travel voucher for $600!! Just over half of the money of my ticket! I work part-time while finishing the PhD work. It took me over a year to save that money. I did NOT pay it to US Air, but to CheapOAir. They have proven themselves dishonest and unethical in dealing with their customers. I am complaining far and wide to the BBB, Atty Gen, FTC... I cannot believe this company has used such shady business practices. To top it off, I made a copy of the chat and have the initial promise IN WRITING! I have traveled internationally for many years. I have never had an experience this horrible!!
