M/S Lofoten Fishy Cabin Assignment

The cruise line assigned us a cabin on the M/S Lofoten that stank of rotten fish. Our trip was supposed to last 3 days and 2 nights. We voluntarily fled the vessel in less than 24 hours

Upon discovering the foul odor in our berth, we requested a cabin change, but there were no empty cabins. We even offered to pay for an upgrade to no avail.

After a single sleepless night in our "mackeral den, " we disembarked the ship, never to return.

We filed an Internet complaint on the Hurtigruten website and asked the company to refund us for the night we did not stay on board. That seemed like a fair and reasonable compromise. Within a week of that Internet communication, someone from the cruise line called to say the customer service office would look into the matter... That was 6 months ago. We have not heard from Hurtigruten Cruises since.

Do not stay on the M/S Lofoten unless you are partial to very old and smelly ships. This baby should have been scuttled and turned into a coral reef decades ago.
