Screwed by both Expedia and Continental - air tickets

My Continental/United tickets were purchased more than a month in advance through Expedia.
1. The experience was unsettling from the beginning in that the ticket price increased from the start point of my booking and the checkout phase.
2. Some 48 hours after I booked, I discovered that my return flight was booked for 5:00AM rather than 5:00PM. Its evident that Expedia has a tight alliance with Continental because it quickly and steadfastly defers to Continental policy, rather than trying to back the customer. End result, some $300 to change the flight.
I am doubtful of the real benefit Expedia provides to the market. As far as Continental is concerned, I will continually publish poor-taste incident. Shame on you both.
