Stop American Express Travelers check fraud

My American Express Travelers Check was stolen from my hotel in liver pool UK
The AMEX company represenative said that i cashed my own check when it was stolen from my hotel. I was treated like a lier and a thief.
I was told american express travelers checks were safer than cash. I was lied to... They always find a way to cheat the customer dont they?
Called me a lier and refused to pay me a refund or issue me another travcelers check... American Express Im ashamed of you...
