Scam Travel Package refund refusal

I have a complaint against the Ramada Plaza Resorts Orlando/Ft. Lauderdale Vacations. They sold me a vacation package for a cruise on the
Imperial Majesty in Jan. The total package was going to cost $1398 for two persons, of which I had to pay $698 up front. After paying $698, I did not travel within the specified time frame of 1.5 year and got an
extension on it.

The new expiration date is 01/04/04. I still havent travelled as of today and happened to do an internet search on the company, it turns out that they are a scam. This led me to ask for a refund. I called the company today and some really rude customer service agents told me that I had to buy an extension for $58 before Jan 04 or lose all the money I've paid.

They would not hear of anything else, and were not at all accomodating.in addition over and again they told me that I could not speak to any of their superiors and my only option was to buy an extension, pay another $698 and go on that cruise or lose the money. Another option would be to sell it to another couple directly, which I have no intention of doing, because I cannot dupe someone like they did to me.

It is my hard earned money, which they think I have simply gifted to them. I read the terms and conditions thoroughly and it does not say that the money is non refundable. And specially after reviewing a large number of complaints about their company on the internet, I do not want to travel with them at all. I simply cannot believe that they will confiscate $698 for nothing. They didnt have to do half an hours work and I am to lose such a huge amount.

I would like a full refund for $698, with interest for 2 yrs if possible.
