UAL Zeroing out of acumulated frequent flyer miles without warning or notice

I just discovered that, much to my horror, my mileage plusaccount balance is now zero. UA has taken thousands of the milesIve built up over the years as a member of Mileage Plus - without any notice - even in any of the mailings the airline sends me. At times, I was evena Premier member. I do not recall getting any written or email notice that thesemiles were going to disappear. Last year, Ihad planned on taking United or their partner airlines to South Africa, Montrealand Salt Lake City, but unfortunately, the trips were cancelled by the sponsors before I couldmake any reservations.
