Well this morning we lost our home in Thompson Gardens, East Haven to a massive fire that left us with absolutely nothing. We lost ALL material possessions and two of our pet cats. We were sent to Day's Inn on route 80 to stay the night. The lady behind the desk was rude right off the bat and not helpful whatsoever.

We entered the room and were immediatey hit by a horrible cigarette stench. When we asked if there were any rooms that didn't smell as bad and we were again given an attitude by the lady. It was around 85 degrees outside and the room was hot and smelly. We attempted to put the Air conditioner on, and the knob broke off. The air conditioner was not working AT ALL, and when we asked about that issue - we were once again given another attitude.

THEN the toilet was broken and would not flush! You know what happens from there. When we decided that we were not going to stay there anymore (after one hour) and we asked for our money back - The lady's husband/owner gave us a horrible attitude and told me to get out of his face, when I was showing him nothing but respect. I explained to him what had happened about losing my house in the fire and having no belongings, and to understand that we needed to find a better, more stable place to stay for the night and his response. "That's not my problem." We got into it pretty bad and he swore and screamed at me throughout the hallway.

THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD. Heartless, money hungry bastards like this. The place is an absolute shit hole. The managers/owners are straight up assholes and the stench when you first walk in alone should keep you away. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE, YOU ARE BETTER OFF PITCHING A TENT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.
