Fraudulent promises & Claims made to sell timeshare-collected $1298-May-Dec. Had buyer w/nonrefundable deposit-Nov. 10% down to finance-buyers vanish!

Traveling & Tourism

On May 26 Josh Fisher called from AMG, stated he had a buyer for my Timeshare in Virginia Beach Va. At the Atrium Resort, and their nonrefundable deposit, I was required to give AMG $1298 for title, deed, and fees paid to date, which would be refunded, in full, to me at closing. I was told the process would take 3 months.in July I was told finance had the buyers' information and I would be contacted by them to set up a date to have the contract mailed to me for my signature.

Weeks went by with no contact, and no one to contact. Sometime in August I was able to speak to Kay, and was told the buyers' didn't fill out the paper work correctly and it would have to be sent back to them. I stayed in touch with Kay, and on September 1 she stated that the contract was in financing, and I should call back September 28 to set up a date with them to have the contract sent to me for my signature.

I was not able to reach Kay again until the middle of October at which time she told me the buyers' were asking me to accept $10,000 instead of the agreed price of $11,700 so they would not have to put down the reguired 10% at closing. I said no.in November Kay informed me the buyers' put the 10% down, and it would not be long before finance would be in touch with me. It was at that moment I said to Kay, there never has been a buyer and all these 6 months have been a scamm. You took my $1298 with no intention of selling my Timeshare. Of course she said the buyers' would never had put down a nonrefundable deposit and 10% if it was on the up and up.

When I finally was able to speak to Kay again, the end of November she informed me the buyers' were no longer answering their phone, and it appeared they had just vanished. I was furious, and after holding for 36 minutes the Customer Service Manager, Major, told me my Timeshare would continue to be on the market until sold with no additional cost to me, and that he would be sending one of his reps to my Timeshare in Virginia to begin the whole proccess over again. He said he would contact me again in a week. AMG would not refund my deposit.

I never heard from him again, and when I called the Customer Service 1-877-296-0457 in December it was no longer in service. Fraudulent promises and claims were made pertaining to the resale of my timeshare. I will be contacting the Attorney General in Florida in hopes of my money being returned and these scamm artist jailed.

It should be a crime, with time served, for these con-artist to continue stealing money.
