Hyatt Regency Capital Hill Washington DC
Telephone use overcharge Washington

Traveling & Tourism

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Capital Hill in Washington DC for a four night stay. I was over charged for the calls made from the room phone. I was charged the usual AT&T fees pluss the hotel fee of $9.00 per minute. Yes thats right $9.00 per minute. I called Charleston SC. I looked in the info book that was on the night stand to check ahead of time before making calls to see how much I would be charged and it stated that calls would be thru At&t for 0.75 connection 0.25 per minute sounded like a good deal. Never did it mention anywhere that there would also be additional hotel charge of $9.00 per min on top of that. Well thinking I was getting a good phone rate I used the phone as needed. I made several calls, sometimes I never got an answer but I was charged $12.00 for every call I made that never was answered and I made several in an attempt to check on my teenage son which was rarely home when I called. My phone bill was more than the cost of the room per night! This was a bad experience that left me feeling ripped off and duped by a hotel chain that I was impressed with unti lseeing my bill. I will never stay at a Hyatt hotel again and I will discourage anyone from booking with them. The price I was charged for phone calls is uncalled for. They should not look for profits by misleading guest. If they wish to charge $9.00 per minute for calls then they should clearly post the fees so no one will be surprised as I was when looking at the bill.
