Decided to take a anniversary/family vacation out to the mountains and beyond. Out of all the places to choose we end up at the Westin gambling hell hole 10, October. Soon after arrival we were exposed to unknown agents in our room on the third floor. They will not produce a hazmet sheet to this day (LV board of health notified). Moved and isolated on 9th floor at end of a long hall, we are disabled. Casino had scheduled construction crews to work on our hallway furher exposing us to dust, dirt, glue, etc, etc. Because of problem with first room part of bill was written off (WE THOUGHT). Used a debit to reserve room and these folks put on all kinds of charges that did not belong. It will disappear from your card in 10 days, guaranteed.
Now weeks later bank is threatening to close account. The bank vp is now telling me on the phone that we are going to pay or else. And now it just gets sicker. My daughter who was with us cashed a check from another bank, they say it bounced and the general manager of the Westin says he had the right to put the check on another account without any authorization from the card holders.
The problem is, the check cashed was honored by my daughter's bank, we have copies of the front and back of the check and have seen the bank statement. The check was honored and that should have been the end of the check portion of this train wreck, but the Westin hotel and casino put the amount of the check on another account and the bank charged our account for it and then additional overdraft fees for the room day written off.
Prior to leaving the westin, I did not want to pay the bill in full in cash, because I wanted proof prior it was off the debit card—we were guaranteed that when i paid the bill at the front desk, ALL charges would be removed from the debit card within ten days.
The Westin brags they replenish the spirit. I think the only thing they replenish is their bank account. I had intended with a stay there, to experience relaxation. I have lung problems and have a difficult time walking with my disabilities. A replenished spirit is far from what my family and I received. Replenishment was a guarantee, not a luxury request while there. We have yet to receive that... Over a month since the stay and they are still in denial reguarding their deplorable treatment of our family.
Even Starwood Customer Service, working on it from time to time, has not resolved this mess. Sadly, the company has allowed the vegas westin to close the file on themselves.
