Traveling & Tourism

We received a "Form 2008" in the mail back in December. The form was from Millennium Travel and promised a complimentary 3 day/2 night Marriott Get a way to any property in the continental USA plus $30 dinner and $50 in gas. For responding in 72 hours we would also get two complimentary round trip airfares to anywhere in the U.S.
We went to the presentation and received "The Complete Package" which stated we would received a hotel stay, dinner gift certificate, entertainment venue tickets and $150 in gas rebates.
After sending our "required money order deposit via registered mail" back in January we have spent the last 10 months back in forth via the US mail finding dates that would work for us to travel that were not in the "blackout" periods, had availability etc.in addition, they had to be on a Monday or Tuesday. The final straw after making numerous calls to these people was to receive our final confirmation from them for our "travel date" requiring us to send an additional $550 to complete the registration. After inquiring with them about all the fees, I was told that was all the necessary fees to complete the travel package/confirmation.in addition, they showed two airports for departure - one that is 3-1/2 hours from our home... Causing us additional $200 in travel expenses.
At every point when we received the letters back, it allows us to "discontinue procedures and receive my refund"... Only hoping that we would after they had kept our money for the length of time they have.
After discussing the fees with them, I inquired what all the fees were for knowing the "uninformed consumer" would not inquire on the fees. I also inquired what portion of the package they would be picking up since I had done internet searches for the package and found them to be around $300/person flying out of the airport some distance from our home.
As I told them, their disclaimer on the bottom states that all airport destinations, dates, hotels are subject to change at Millennium Travel's space availability. Or otherwise stating, they could change the date, location and hotel which I'm sure would not be a Marriott per other postings on this website.
There are others that went to the same presentations and have experienced the same problems with this company. They send the letters back and forth in the US mail hoping the normal consumer will give up and request their deposit back putting them into a position of not having to satisfy the contract or offer.in addition, several times they sent the form back after proper information had been provided as if they hadn't even read it.
This has been a long nightmare and only hope others don't have to go through what we have gone through with this company. They are not to be trusted and have no respect for themselves and/or conscience.
