Ramada Plaza Resorts
Ripoff on paradise vacation I was told that there was no way that I could get a refund

Traveling & Tourism

To the ex-employees, don't feel bad about the past, feel good about what you are doing now and the fact that you gave me the courage to actually write this.

To make a long story short, I received by the mail a voucher stating that I had won a vacation which included a cruise and access to MGM studios. I was intrigued and called to get hooked into putting a down payment since I lost my chance at a paradise vacation if I hung up the phone. I figured that being single, I could go with a girlfriend and have a great time.

My situation changed quickly once that I met the man that is now my husband. We thought of using this trip as our honeymoon but when I started making some research on the net about the resort that was in mexico (that doesn't really exist, it's another hotel chain that Ramada is actually affiliated with), I found all of these bad reviews and we decided that we didn't want to have anything get in the way of ruining our honeymoon so we booked a completely different trip in Playa Del Carmen.

By the time we got back from our honeymoon, we got a call saying that if I wanted too, I could get an extension on the trip for $50.00 and I declined saying that I was not confident in the service I would be paying for, the salesperson tried to convince me but it didn't work and things stayed quite for a while.

8 months later, I get a call from a Shawn Gallager saying that the cruise was no longer with Majestic but was now with Carnaval cruise and that if I wanted, they could extend my vacation if I paid the balance. Of course, being 7 months pregnant, I will not go and fork out money for a trip that I could maybe take a few yours from now after my baby is borned or even before as suggested by the salesperson, whom I think, doesn't know the risks in travelling at this point of a pregnancy... He went on after on how I would need a rest after giving birth, yeh for sure, but I'm not going to go on a 1 week trip away from by baby, what are you thinking?

Anyway, I was told that if I did not call him back by 4:00 the next day, that my name would be taken out of the computer database. I was also told that there was no way that I could get a refund since my package was already 18 months old?

When I ask the same question to the salesperson that called me in the fall, she said that there was no way either: was that to discourage me? She never mentioned that it was impossible because of the date at which I had purchased my package. Does it mean that at that point, I would have been able to get my money back (although I'm probably dreaming!) Is there still a way I can get them to spit my money back?

Please help a future mom that could use her money back!
