They sell free hotel vacations for use as corporate promotions, but make it impossible to make reservations. Oh, by the way, it costs $50 DEERFIELD BEACH

I was excited to get a free hotel certificate for 2 nights for changing my long-distance service, especially as I have enough miles for 2 free flights. Sounded great.

I knew I was in trouble when I called and they started asking for all sorts of personal information. Then they asked my for my annual income and I responded, "I'd rather not say." Her response was "thank you for calling." and then hung up.

I couldn't believe it. I called back and asked to speak with a manager. I explained what happened and the manager said that I have to provide that information in order to make the reservation. When I asked if this was the routine way to handle customers (i.E. Hanging up on them with no explanation) he replied, "If you weren't going to give your income, there is no reason for her to stay on the line with you." And then HE hung up on me!

I went the BBB site and there were complaints from customers that they had trouble getting back their $50 refundable reservation deposit. I looked on the back of my coupon and sure enough, in 6 point font, there was mention of a $50 refundable deposit with no information as to when or how to get it back.

Other interesting 6 point information includes: The resort accomodation for which you have a reservation is only accessable if you listen to a timeshare presentation. Otherwise they stick you in a cheap motel next to the resort.

If you are married, you must travel with your spouse.

Reservations must be made more than 30 days and less than 90 days before travel.

They won't even confirm availability over the phone. They will let you know at least 14 days before the travel date, so the odds of getting flights in time are non-existent.

So much for my free vacation.
