Claims we won a free holiday

My wife received a phone call stating that we had won a trip for our whole family to Warner Brothers studios in Florida. After being told of what we had won, she (my wife) was told that she would have to pay $998 USD. Upon advising the customer sales assistant that if she had won, she should not have to pay anything, the person hung up the phone. Is there any way these people can be stopped?

This is not the first time we have been targeted by these sort of people... The last time being told that we had won a car in a British Lottery draw.
