Traveling & Tourism

A co-, worker told of this campground, my wife and i on sunday june 21st drove to this location, to see if it might be where we might want to camp @ a later date. When we arrived there was no gate to the facility, we drove to what we thought was the office, it had a sign in the window closed. As many times before when we checked other campgrounds, this was the case of the office being closed only,

We were always permitted to enter and check out the facalities and most of the times were greeted by campground officials that welcomed us and explained the campgrounds to us. Boy were we shocked as we entered the camping area, and was turning around a woman, i hesitate to call her a lady, came flying up on a four wheeler, i found this odd because we had respected the signs of 5.0 mph because of the dust, of which she had ignored.

I let my window down, and before i could say anything, she rudely asked what can i do for you, i replied that we were told about her facility and wanted to see it before we decided to go camping there, she replied we are closed couldnt you see the sign, before i could explain, she abruptly told us that we were on private property and to leave now. I appolized that i wasnt aware of that and what we were doing there, she stated, well if walmart was closed, would i go in there, which i felt very stupid.

She escorted us out of the park, but as we were coming out we met another four wheeler coming to assist her i supposed, it was a white male bearing a fire arm on the four wheeler, this reallyy blew our mind, what had we done so bad to deserve this treatment. Please take this seriously, my wife and i talked later on the way home, we felt that these people must have something to hide, why else would they have acted in this manner.

I havecamped in many areas and had never been treated in this manner, along with this message here, we plann to get the word out in ever way possible about this place. We feel that if firearms are need to protect a campground that is supposed to be a family outing, that there is something deeply wrong with this picture.
