McKenzie Mountain 338a

My family stayed at McKenzies Mountain Cabin 338A from the 15th thru the 19th.

Overall a beautiful place, just a few things that need to be mentioned. The bathrooms and kitchen was clean for the most part. The kitchen needs repairs, the dishwasher racks are broken, the right rear burner on stove works sometimes and sometimes not. The oven heating was up and down, the oven needed cleaning, when turning it on, it would smoke causing the smoke detector to go off. The bottom compartments in the refrigerator would not open smoothly, the right one had to be unused totally as it would not open. The vacuum cleaners would not work. I could not vacuum the carpets, it blew dirt around and not picked up. The carpets were dirty. We had to call regarding no heat on the left side of the house, the hvac man said it was a terribly clogged filter. We had heat finally on that side after 2 nights with out. The heating intake air vents are filthy. The vent under the refrigerator was disgusting. It is so dirty. None of the back decks were cleaned off, snow 6 to 8 inches deep, could not go out on them to enjoy the view. The patio to the hot tub was never swept, we had to traipse through debris just to get to the hot tub. Window blinds and verticals were in disrepair. Some of the verticals were missing individual sections.

I had to totally wash all place mats, pot holders etc. Because they were so dirty. A chair cover was totally disgusting that I had to remove it so that we could sit in the chair.

To say the least, I was disappointed to spend so much on a four day vacation and have the unit dirty and in disrepair. When I called about the hot water heater I was told to stagger showers, I do not have to do this at home and should not have to do it on vacation. The left side of the house has inadequate hot water.

I had my 18 month old grandson with me, his socks were filthy at the end of the day. We could not walk barefoot on the carpets.

It is disappointing to spend 2700 and have a place look like it did.

I went on line and did a chat, and of course all apologies, someone from their office called and told me they would let the landlords know, told me that the place is to be inspected everytime a rental has been there. Apparently that was not done.

Renters beware!!!
