Termination without cause

This hotel was dump when I came on board. Eventhough it was brand new and had just opened in march '08, the rooms were dirty and the bed linen and terry that they used (and kept using!) was full of yellow stains.

When I came on board I took action. I hired the right people and started spot checking on employees. I stayed nice with all but was firm in my actions. This place turned around so nicely. The owner (and his wife), however, had absolutely no regards for their employees personal lives. After one incident they made me fire employees (eventhough we all know it takes 3 strikes!!!) They didnt want to give anybody any benefits and when they found out that their own handbook showed that they did holiday pay, they made me take that information out of the handbook.

I had only been on board for about 2 months when they told me they were going to let me go. For what? Then come to find out that they had hired somebode else already 1 month after I got hired. One month! This did not make any sense to me. I had put so much hard work in this place. I had made al lot of long hours because the place was already falling apart (and Tropical Depressions and hurricanes really dont make things any better if they are already falling apart!)

Then I found out the real reason for my termination... The new guy was a buddy from back home Ohio! They fired me because they wanted to get a friend in! That is ridiculous! You fire people for good reason and with warnings but not because you want to replace them with a friend.
