Ramada Pensacola
Very poor/very late housekeeping, Front desk does not respond to complaints, Nuisance fees

My girlfriend and I traveled to Florida for a vacation in June. We stayed at the Ramada Pensacola, because Ramada always had a good reputation for cleanliness and service. Maybe this Ramada was the exception, but the service was terrible! The rooms were not cleaned and beds not made, clean towels not supplied until well after 6:00 PM. I had to complain to the front desk three times before we even got clean towels. The front dest manager explained that the hotel had hired a husband/wife housekeeping company recently and they had not been in the country for long and did not understand punctuality (couple was from India).in order to save money, the couple did not hire any additional help and attempted to clean all 44 rooms themselves! With no clean towels, toilet paper or soap to be had and the front desk not responding to my complaints, I was forced to slip the lock on a supply cabinet with the blade of my pocketknife and help myself. I was given a customer service number (866) 564-1144, but this is another contract complaint-receiving company and not Ramada corporate offices. I called this number three times and all I got was a recording, which promised to return my call within 24 hours and investigate my complaint. They never returned any of my calls. Upon checking out, I got some surprises on the bill as well. Nuisance "junk" fees (ie: "safe fee", "safe fee tax", "hurricane surcharge", "hurricane surcharge tax", ad nauseum. Well, I will never stay at another Ramada hotel again under any circumstances. They are low on service, big on excuses, a complete waste of time and an even bigger waste of money. Colossal rip off. Shame on you people!
