Went to UK, horrible flight, BAD customer service, bad experience.

I travelled with four family members including my eight year old daughter to England on Continental. We were taking my father's ashes over to scatter there. It was by no means a pleasure trip.

When we boarded the flight we were left waiting on the tarmac for an hour and a half with no explanation. When I asked the stewardess what was happening she looked at me like I was a piece of gum on the bottom of her shoe, gave me the once over and walked away without replying.

I then asked her again as she was passing. She said, "stop bothering me" and walked away. I was shocked. A steward was walking down the aisle handing out newspapers and passed me over even as I went to reach for one he pulled them up out of my reach.

My daughter fell asleep on my lap and my nose was stuffy. I asked the stewardess if she wouldn't mind getting me a tissue. She pointed in the direction of the toilet and said, "get one in there, I'm busy".

I ordered a vegetarian meal for myself and a kid's meal for my daughter. The vegetarian meal was disgusting. I wouldn't give it to my dog. My daughter's kids meal was not different from the other meals except she had a bite size candy bar on her tray. Who gives children "Caesar dressing" and green beans?

On the trip back I called Continental to complain about the trip over. I was told that I would have to talk to someone when I got back to the USA or at the airport. At Manchester Airport I explained to the check in woman about my ordeal. She said she wasn't an employee, just an agency worker. I asked one of Continental's security personnel to get me a manager. I was told that one was coming from upstairs and to wait. I waited while my family when ahead into the departure lounge. I waited for 55 minutes. I asked a few times and was told that they would be down, that it was a busy time for them. It was 8am.

No one showed up. I gave up and went into join my family. The flight home was worse. Do yourself a favor if you are travelling on Continental, pack a sandwich or snack. DO NOT EAT their hot "chicken" sandwich you get around lunch time. Its mystery meat and my daughter was sick from it. They charge you $4 for a cocktail and refuse to sell you another one after they have come down your aisle once. On those flights I'd need the whole bottle! BTW, my miles weren't added to my card. When I called about this they wanted a copy of my ticket FED-EX'd to them before they'd apply the mileage. Unreal.
