Gate i travel will put you in the worst, junky, beat up hotels in a bad area frequented by junkies

Three couples decided to use Gate I Travel to vist Greece (booking no. 216210) in May. The price included hotel stays in four different locations. The first hotel in Mykonos, was the Artemis Hotel, located away from the city in a remote area that required us to take an expensive cab all the time... Hotel was junky, broken furniture and there was no hot water in the morning... The manager agreed there was a technical problem. The shower stall was 24 inches by 24 inches... Spoke to the local Gate I rep., Vicky who informed me that we got a good deal on the trip and we should not complain about the hot water and demanded more money if we wanted to move... The second hotel was in Crete, Glados hotel... Air conditioning did not work, the front desk would not answer the phone calls, finally at 1 am, they moved us to a different room... Finally, we were taken to the City Plaza Hotel in Athens, this was the worst of the lot, room was smoky, carpets were stained, beds were lumpy, no temp. Control on the air conditioning, we were hot all the time, one of the other couples, when they flushed the toilet, the plumbing broke and water went everywhere... (HAVE PHOTOGRAPHS TO PROVE THIS) this hotel was in a very bad part of the town, junkies and drug dealers everywhere... Spoke to Nicky at the local gate I office, no help there... No one from Gate! Helped us with our luggage even though they transported us from the hotel to the terminals, some of us had difficulty dragging our luggage a great distance... Basically, Gate I gave us the tickets and the paperwork and we were on our own... And this was a organized tour of Greece... I think Gate I does not pay the hotels enough, therefore, they put us in the worst rooms possible... Finally, one of the couples made a mistake on their first name and tickets for two internal flights in Greece... They charged them over 350.00 to make a simple correction, more than the actual cost of two internal flights... (complained to gate 1, got an e mail stating that they will get back to us in eight weeks... Right, they are hoping that in 8 weeks we will forget about this issue) BOTTOM LINE, DONT USE GATE 1 TRAVEL. They dont care about you, once they have your money, they will ignore you and treat you like dirt... We need compensation for this shoddy treatment... Sid
