Traveling & Tourism

We received a postcard for a free cruise in the mail. When my husband called he was told we would have to go to a presentation (no obligation) to get the free cruise. We are both in our 70s. We went to the presentation on May 1, and was really not that interested. I was already looking into a cruise on the internet for June 11. We were going with family members.

My husband asked the salesman what discount he could give us for that particular cruise. He went to talk to someone else and came back with a price of 93.00 plus tax for that cruise if we bought into the plan and all the vacations would have 70% or more discounts. We told him we could not afford the $ 7,000.00 and we thought it was too high a price. He said he could do the same plan for $4,000.00. We feel he fast talked us into signing a contract. We put $2000.00 down and was told they would finance the rest, with NO interest at $50.00 a month auto payed from our credit card. Now it is thru CAPITAL FINANCIAL with $5.56 a month interest.

We called the next day to ask about the discounted cruise and was told someone would get back to us. We heard nothing, We started to feel that we were scamed, so my husband called again and said that we were going to cancel the contract.

Someone called back immediatly and said they had everything set for the cruise and would send us comformation in the mail. We paid the (93.00 plus each) Everything was fine.

Since then I have not been able to book a vacation, I was always put on hold or someone would get back to me. It all became to complicated and we had no understanding how it worked. It was a lot different than what we thought we were getting. The prices were resort bound not destination, not defined in the presentation. It would cost too much for us to afford. Our payments extend into 2010 We feel very violated and ripped off We never did get our FREE cruise They said they were not affilliated with them.
