Spirit Incentives
Free award vacation a complete scam lies deception and fraudulent statements

Traveling & Tourism

Like other reports I've read on this site, I was a victim of Spirit Incentives. I viewed a SilverLeaf Resort property in Tyler Texas and was given a free vacation 4 nights in Hawaii. You give them three possible travel dates and they won't tell you anything until 30 days prior to the date. Calling them is on your own dime. Very limited hours. They deny the first two based on availability. The third date they say is tentatively approved (we find out by calling them 4 weeks prior to the date), and we just need to mail them $140. We did so with a cashiers check to minimize the processing time (per their advice). It took them 2 whole weeks to "process" the check. Then we call them back daily and finally they say... Yes its now processed, we can confirm your reservation. Uh oh... Sorry the availability is now changed, your date is no longer available. We'll give you another date, randomly picked by them. We have a conflict on that date. THeir answer is sorry sir, that's the ONLY date we'll offer you.in other words, our providing them dates was a SCAM and a lie... They never checked in availability.in fact, I called the resort hotel directly and they confirmed for me there is PLENTY of available rooms, even their cheapest rooms are wide open on the week we asked for.

The only way to keep this type of scam from occurring is by exposing it for the companies who use them to motivate customers to come hear their sales pitch. I am contacting the local news (they do weekly stories about scams) and the company who owned the time shares (SilverLeaf Resorts, based in Dallas).

They should not be allowed to lie to you and get away with it without any consequences.
