Traveling & Tourism

We went to A Suncoast Vacations seminar basically to get the free plane tickets for attending. (If we're being honest here.) The presentation ws pretty good - they said they have a 98% fullfillment rate (getting customers booked for the vacation they requested), offer several choices for each location requested, had ideal locations, you could talk to, email or search online at any time for your vacation, you just needed to provide 60 days advance for any non-prime time request and more depending on ths situation, they had a 24 hour response time to all emails or messages sent, they lock you in forever to your price, you get free full week vacations and mini vacations depending on how many weeks you purchase in your plan and you can use those vacations anytime/anywhere after the annual fee was paid.

The rep that we were working with showed us several travel books showing places we could choose from - tons of resorts/hotels - I would say hunderds of thousands. Our rep left us after we were getting on board and someone else stepped in. The kid helping us was very unprofessional - talked about his DUI & Drug use and how he had to take diversion classes and started going into how t fake the biweekly drug tests. He couldn't answer our questions - just said 'yes' or 'it will be in your package of informaton'. Remember, at this point we were onboard and just trying to finish and get out of there. When we requested to see the package, he just stated we would receive it after we were finished.

So all is done, purchased 3 weeks vacation. Yea! Got 3 full week vacatons and 3 minis we can use whenever or wherever we want. Super! Plus we have free airfare to anywhere in the continental US which they canbook for us at the same time we book our vacation. Awesome, right?

Yeah, then we got home and logged into the website. Whoah! Looks like a 2nd grader created it. You cannot see resorts/you cannot bookonline/you can send an email but you don't know who or where it is going/there are no contact numbers/etc, etc.

So, mildly panicked, we call customer service to see what they ave in the location we want to go. We get a generic voice mail to leave a message, so we do. It's pretty early in the day and we're thinking they should be open. So a bit more on edge we start doing reserch online and see other rip off reports, all kinds of derogotory information but its all about this other company: United Vacation Network. Then I remember the rip off report mentioned that name. So I google UVN and it takes me to the exact same website I was just ononly this time it says UVN instead of SVI.

We call customer serive again -after finding out they are only open our time 8-2pm M-F, closed all holidays and seem to always be busy. We addressed our concerns and were talked into not cancelling. They told us about how they will have a better website coming up very soon, how you get a minimum of 3 choices per location, how they have multiple places you can stay in every location, etc.

So we didn't cancel and now nothing is going through as explained. We requested 3 locations in the Miami are with 3 different weeks and they have nothing available in the next 3 months.

We told them since we were falsly sold on the product we would like to cancel membership and get a full refund. We were given a flat no and a threat they would persue us legally. I'm not even sure the contract is legal.

I would like to ask if anyone has bene able to get a full refund and out of their contract? And if so, how did you go about doing it?
