Recommendation from USA today's money section turns into the nightmare from hell! Fern Park

Traveling & Tourism

Back in August I was by the fax and a interesting fax came over about some good deals, that were legitimate, for traveling to Cancun, Mexico. Normally I would have thrown that in the thrash. However, since it was coming from USA today I called the 800 number. Wish I had kept the fax but I didn't.

I was told to go to www.priceline. Cancun.com and take a look at the resorts which were suppose to be all inclusive. The conversation was taped and I was told that I could not get a refund. However, the company misrepresented
the trip.

I called IRR to inquire about the resort I wanted to go to and was told all the resorts I was interested in were an upgrade which would require an additional $199 - $299 payment.in addtion to the upgrade I would have to pay $200.00 to travel in the peak season which is through April. So stupid me gives the representative my debit card number and was told I would have an email confirming our conservation.

When I arrived home today I checked my emails and I did have one form IRR. To my astonishment I was sent an income verification form asking me to sign off on my income to be at least $50,000 and I would be required to attend a Timeshare presentation of 90 minutes at the resort where I would be staying.

I have paid an additional $400.00 to stay at an upgraded resort plus the season charge and now I am required to endure a time share presentation.
Please there has to be some recourse for the consumer! I want to go to Cancun. However, I want what I was told this trip would be! As of today I have spent $1200.00 and I don't see Cancun on the horizon. I want my money back or the trip I thought I was going to get.

Lost faith in USA today and sorry for believing!!
