Traveling & Tourism

After attending the Southern Women's Show in Orlando and dropping my name in several drawings, I received a call from a company that stated I had won a free vacation! I needed to attend a presentation of a travel service and it would be my gift regardless of what I thought of the presentation.

I sat through the 45 minutes or so presentation and watched the host manouver through a multitude of vacation offerings. He referred to the RCI Timeshare book on the desk and kept assuring us that we could vacation anywhere-anytime.

Long story short, I bit. The price started at $8,000 and then they offered to pick up my old timeshare, so the sticker came down to $4,400. Then, they suggested I put it all on a credit card and they would call it even at $3, ooo.

I should have walked away. But I believed the kind looking young man who shared timidly that his father owned the business. I walked out with a colorfull cardboard presentation that showed pictures of happy people enjoying vacations. It would be several weeks before my passwords would arrive so that I could utilize the website.

I did get the password eventually, and as soon as I did, I got right online to start planning. The multitudes were gone. Only a few listings, unless I wanted to vacation in my own neighborhoods... I live in Orlando and the Kissimmee/Orlando listings were the majority of what could be found. I called and complained, but the soft spoken young man assured me that they never had any unhappy customers... I must be doing something wrong. He asked that I come to see him and let him show me how to use the system.

I did as he asked, but this time, I took my practical sense with me. When he began to scroll through the listings, I stopped him and showed him that they were mostly the same place listed by individual weeks. This made it appear as if there was a great abundance of locations, when in reality, it was one location being listed for a week at a time and being repeated in several regions.

I told him I was not happy and that I wanted my money back. He said they didn't do that. I have written letters to his father, since John told me he was sorry but he could not make that decision. But his father has ignored me. He still has not replied to any of my 6 phone messages to his cell phone, or the registered letter that I have documentation to prove was recieved on 12/1/07.

I want my money back. If his product is so great, why does he need to cheat people out of their money? If it is so wonderful, they should have plenty of people to sell it to. I have not used his product and I will not use his product. I want my money back because the listings he showed were misleading and he must know that, or he wouldn't have a problem refunding me my money.

By the way, that "free" vacation... Sure, if you want to go to Orlando. Once again, I should have known better. I know I am not the only one that has fallen for this routine, but I will do everything I can to make sure everyone I know hears about this.

Leisure Time LLC should give me back my money, instead of avoiding my calls.
