Horrible Service, Filthy Blanket, Rude, Nasty, Threatening manage

Traveling & Tourism

My Name is Tom. I live in New Jersey and am looking for a nice place to move in the South. I came down to look around and stayed in the Quality Inn in Lexington at 328 West Main St. I needed a room that allows pets and the Quality Inn in Lexington was the only one in town that I could find. When booking I was offered a 2 room suite with a kitchen. I took it because I wanted to cook and save some money. The morning after we arrived my wife went into the kitchen to make breakfast, but there were no utensils, pans, pots, not even a coffee cup in the room.

We asked at the front desk about this and were told "people bring their own utensils". An obvious lie. I asked for the manager every single day and was told he was not in. At check out I refused to pay until I spoke to a manager.

The owner was called out of the back by an employee, but would not speak to me and was rude. He said I don't talk to people for these things and walked away into the back. The General Manager (A. Champanieri) was called and showed up with a bad attitude. When I explained this all to him he said "I don't have to supply utensils". I said I should have been told. He said we should have asked. Ridiculous! He said he would have provided paper plates. Ridiculous! I can't cook on paper plates.

I asked for a discount and he said NO! I asked him to be fair twice and both times he said I don't have to be fair. I asked what happened to Southern hospitality. He said "I'm not from the South. Nice! He then told me to get the hell out. My wife said to him, You're despicable and he replied "that's right. Maybe he didn't know what it meant.

We loved Lexington and the people. They were very friendly and welcoming and we are considering moving there next year. I just wanted you to know that the owner and manager of the Quality Inn do not portray the same Friendly Southern personality that the rest of the town does.

To make matters even worse, the guy was a foreigner who seemed to dislike Americans based on how he initially approached us. It was obvious from the start he was not going to be nice. I have no problem with foreigners who come to America to better themselves, but when they come here and blatantly cheat Americans and act as though they have the right, I get annoyed.

This is America, not India and we should not allow people from other countries to take advantage of hard working Americans. I paid by American Express and will dispute the charges when they come in. I just want to make sure that you are aware of the kind of business this dirt-bag is doing and how it hurts your town's reputation. It was a huge disappointment to be treated the way we were in a town we fell in love with and are thinking about moving to.
