New Divident miles policy EFFECTIVE JANUARY

Divident miles SCAM!!!

This is what I was told today:

"Effective January active membership status is based on having earned or redeemed miles within a consecutive 18-month period. With our new Mileage Reactivation Policy, Dividend Miles members have an opportunity to reinstate their Dividend Miles accounts for a fee.

Members who have no account activity for a consecutive 36-month period forfeit all miles in their accounts. Once forfeited, miles cannot be reinstated."

USAirways has changed the policy on Jan but it is effective 18 months FROM THE LAST ACTIVITY. So, in my particular case my miles are forfeited, since my "last activity" was on April. Isn't that nice?
Now, in order to reinstate my 23, xxx miles (which I guess I can do anytime betwen now and April 08) I have to pay a $200 fee!!! I spoke to a manager in a Dividents MIles department, she told me that this policy has changed a number of times and emails were sent out each time with new policy change half a dozen of times this year and one other option I had (before Aug 8th) was to book a firstbusiness class ticket, instead of paying $200. Isn't that crazy?

They also told me that they coudn't communicate this policy change to me because my email address is not on my divident account. However, when I told them that I assumed that they had my email address because I always booked my tickets online and always got an email confirmation (as well as 2-3 emails from usairways every week).. They told me "well, you must know that all these systems we have here are not linked..." (like I am suppose to care?)

Is anyone else in the same boat?
