Ramada Plaza Resorts
Dishonest business practices and false promises ripoff deception

Traveling & Tourism

We recently went on a vacation and cruise that was promoted as a wonderful vacation for the whole family. Something you would not forget for a life time. Well, they were right about the last part. We will never forget it.

We were sent a video to watch and an explanation came with it of course. The person narrating had a beautiful voice and made you feel as though you would never want to leave the ship. The pool was large and beautiful and everything seemed great. Ha!

That was not the case. First of all they called and ask us to upgrade our hotel to "On the Beach". I ask her, to be sure I was understanding, "this is right on the Beach?" She told me yes, it will be right on the sand. It was not on the sand and we were told at the Hotel that, that was not the arrangment they had with Ramada Plaza Resorts and never have had. We could not even see the Beach.

The Hotel service at the Hotel in Orlando was very poor. Their roomservice couldn't get anything correct. Here we had to take a "tour" of the facility they were peddling. This was guaranteed to be only 90 minutes and it took over three hours. The whole thing was poorly organized.

Now for the cruise! The food and service in the dinning room was excelent, however the people did not speak much English. Now, we brought our swim suits really looking forward to that beautiful pool. Oh boy!!! The pool was about the size of a postage stamp. There were three children in it and it was full. We did not see one adult in it through the three days. The entertainment was fair. The morning and noon meals let a little to be desired. They did not tell you that you could get a glass of tea or coffee etc. With your meal and it was included, but they had water for sale and that hit you first.

Now they advertise that you can take a cruise to another island when you get to the Bahamas. OK, we decided to sign-up for the Blue Lagoon. What an experience that was. First of all you had to walk, in the 100 temperature, for about 3/4 mile. My husband has problems walking and is considered disabled, there was a shuttle available but they did not mention the fact that you could take the shuttle or that it was available. They were not professional in their handling of their customers with speciasl needs. They did not offer a wheel chair either. Persons from the ship go with you and could see my husband was having problems and never mentioned the shuttle.

Information about the Island was very poor, even when you landed on the Island. They did tell us we would have lunch when we got there, which was advertised as Bar-b-que ribs, they just forgot to mention it was boiled beef ribs. The food there was bad.

Overall the trip and cruise was very disapointing, the people were rude and it seemed as though they just wanted our money and the heck with us. We did not enjoy this trip at all and would never go back to Florida.

Now we also were promised some side trips. One was for Los Vegas, one to Virginia and one to Porta Lavarda. We decided to take the trip to Los Vegas at the end of September and called about it.

They informed us that our dates were all open and everything would be fine, but, we had to send them our security voicher and our check for $50, before they could book our rooms. OK, we did as they ask.

We received a letter from them telling us that we could not have the rooms on a Saturday, that no one is allowed to come in on Saturday. We had already booked our Airpassage and paid for them and had everything set up with other people for that date.

NOw they tell us they can't do that. We set all the rest of it up based on what they told us. They gave us such a hard time on the phone that we said just forget it and send our $50 back. They told us it would take at least 45 days to get it back.

I don't want them using my money for 45 days when they didn't even stand up to their promises in the first place. I feel as though they have already gotten enough money out of me under false pretenses.

Please don't ever book anything with Ramada Plaza Tours, you will regret it.
