Prize-winning lure didn't catch this fish Ripoff

Traveling & Tourism

I was contacted by phone by an outfit claiming that I'd won two of five possible prizes, and all I had to do was come pick them up at the Geo "Gifting Center." I was suspicious because I didn't recall entering any contest. They claimed it was a promotion by Ford and Toshiba and that my husband had filled out some form. They wanted me to schedule a particular time and day and described a procedure for picking up my "prizes." When I asked point blank if they were selling time-shares they said I wouldn't be asked to buy anything. They would just be giving me information about their service which I might want to use later. Ha! I googled "geo gifting center" and found this site.

I've only lost about 30 minutes so I consider myself lucky. Thanks to everyone who posted about this scam.
