Scam, Rip-Off: Based on false and misleading claims, signed a contract for $6199. They guarantee nothing in return and refuse to refund my money., Round Rock Texas

Using telemarketing, Vacation Network lures prospects to their "one hour presentation" by offerring a free trip/cruise.

By signing a multi-week (22 weeks in our case) vacation package contract they claim to provide one week lodging in a one BR suite for $300-400 per week based on their contracting for lodging on a "wholesale" basis (ala WalMart, per their WebSite). When, in fact, reservation requests are submitted to a 3rd party for processing.

Reservation requests submitted 60-90 days in advance of intended travel must include $89.00 for processing, plus $25.00 per night if considered "Prime Time" which, on review means basically anywhere most people would want to travel.

Other charges included in the "fine print" of the contract - $269.00 annual fee which esculates at 8% per year of contract duration. Failure to pay this fee resulted in cancellation of the contract and loss of our $6199.00.

The Vacation Network office in Round Rock TX was closed in June without any forwarding contact information or notice to local Texas customers. This occurred about the same time as the Texas Attorney General announced a $64 million award against Sun Country Travel of Dallas, the same type vacation package operation as Vacation Network.
