Complete rip-off

We were contacted by this Company over 12 months ago and signed an advertising contract on 10 October. Since then we have not been contacted by them althugh they were constantly in touch until we signed up. Since we had had no communication after the initial six month period, we wrote on 24 April, and again on 25 August, 3 September and 7 September and finally contacted their General Manager Samantha Whetstone on 12 September, enclosing with this letter all copies of correspondence sent to RIU, none of which were acknowledged in writing. We have had no response to this letter as at 25 September. After each of the previous letters they contacted us by telephone and advised us (believe it or not!) that it is RIU's policy (a) not to commit the Company to written correspondence and (b) it is not Cmpany policy to advise their clients of how sales are proceeding.

Re advertising our property:

1) Web site www.resortsinternationalunlimited.com has not advertised our timeshare.

2) Web site www.riutimeshares.com did advertise. However, (a) the sales price was $10,000 which varied from the signed advertising contract price of $20,000 (recommended by the sales rep. Regina Hollis, and apparenty against RIU policy, and (b) it contained a rental charge of $850. I did not ask for rental options.

I resent the total lack of professionalism and performance by this Company and am concerned that its operatives did not have the courtesey to acknowledge the genuine comments I have made known to them.

I am suspicious of its activities and having given them $895 for what appears to be complete inaction and mis-management (to put it mildly) I would expect at least the return of our payment to them.
