Philippines Airlines
Refused to re-issue ticket already paid for and left me stranded ripoff

Traveling & Tourism

Dear Sir/Madam,

Be warned! When I was in the Philippines and I took a domestic flight with Philippines Airline this is what happened.

When I arrived in the Philippines I had the misfortune of having my bag stolen which unfortunately contained my domestic return air ticket between Manila and Dipolog (Two places within the Philippines).

Whilst in the Philippines and exploring the country I was struck by the desperate plight of so many people.in a small effort to help them I abandoned many of my initial plans to go to fancy resorts and instead gave my money to some of the needy people who I came into contact with. (Some people would claim that this is foolish but I am not here to debate academically my action). I was happy to help in my own small way and I do not regret it.

What I regret is flying PAL (Philippines Airlines). Why? Simply because although I gave most of my holiday money away to the poor I could no longer get back to Manila (I was far awa from Manila) Why? Because although I had a return air ticket to Manila, Philippines Airlines insisted I buy a new ticket due to mine being stolen. Of course I have to accept the responsibility that it was stolen but when they could clearly see (in their computer system) that I had paid fully for my fare it seems incomprehensible that they will not re-issue me with a ticket given my plight. I feel disappointed that such a gargantuan company such as PAL cannot seem to act in good faith given the fact that I had my own plight to deal with.

I tried politely and reasonable to enlist the support of Philippines Airlines to help me get back to Manila but they insisted I must repay the full fare of a seat on a flight I had alread paid for.

I am not one to gripe and moan. There are many far worse off than me in this country but when you are ripped off by such a company as Philippines Airlines it really gets me. Who I wonder will pocket the money?

I strongly urge you not to fly with this company because it seems they will take advantage of an situation the can to exploit and rip you off.
