RIPOFF wheeled into buying vacation package, but thanks to usacomplaints.com.Com was able to get refund

My husband and I found out about Ramada Plaza Resort scams by accident. We actually were looking up something elso to see if it was legit (which it was not) and stumbled across this site. When we saw Ramada, our mouths dropped. We purchased a package two weeks ago!

We started to read several of the testimonies, and boy were we in for a suprise. We new right then we were scammed and had to act immediately.

My husband recieved a vacation package voucher stating that he has been selected to receive a 1600.00 vacation package for only 398.00 per person. Well, we declined, because we just could not afford it since we just had a baby. The gentleman told us we are really missing out because that was a deal of a lifetime and if we say no now, we won't ever get to use it. We still declined and were extremely disappointed.

Well, about a week later, they called again, and offered it to us again. This time we would be saving 3600.00 on this vacation by only paying 198.00 per person plus pay our airfare. So we decided we can't pass this up. Now, we hate to do this, but yes, we charged it. Four days later our vacation package came, we watched it and put it aside and thought this will be great when we are ready to use it (we have a whole year in a half to use it).

Well, we stumbled across this site and acted immediately, and you bet the customer service was not helpful whatsoever. I called and spoke to Henry Perez and told him we would like to get a refund of our charge of 396.00. He kept trying to convince me not to. I was starting to get very upset. I asked for a manager and he refused to let me speak to anyone else. He said it is non-refundable. I told him that there is a cancellation form here. He told me to read it.

Well, guess what it said? You can only cancel it within 3 days from tranaction by midnight. What!!? But I only got the package in four days. Im in Oregon, your in Florida, when could I even have time to cancel? He was still very persistant. I asked him also if this is a time share, and he said yes. I said we were not told that and we would like a refund, he said no he cannot do that. Well, after that, my husband took care of the rest. My husband called the resort and spoke to a manager and you bet, they said they cannot refund it, my husband tried to reason with them, but there was no reasoning.

Next step, we called our credit card company and explained to them our situation and it sounded like they have dealt with this before. She immediately credited our account and said that they will go after them for there money. They helped us resolve the issue right away. So they were able to dispute it for us. Thanks to usacomplaints.com we were able to catch it on time before we experienced that horrible vacation.
