I too bought a Ramada Plaza Resort package over the phone sortly after the new year. I initally filled out one of the ballot to win a trip to Bahamas/Orlando at some show. So when I first received the phone call few days after the new year, I thought I was the lucky one to win! Boy did they make you felt like you'd won! Then they told you that it's actually a promotion. However, since I felt out the bullot at a public event I thought it wouldn't be a scam or a rip off; that the quality of the offer would be good. I did realize that at some point that would be a time share appointment, which is fine with me since I used to work in Whistler and had heard about all these time shares vacation or something similar to it and no problems arised. Pluse, I went to Hawaii last year and I attended a free breakfast welcome gathering, and all the company did was promoting their tours around Hawaii, and they didn't harrase (?) anyone who didn't buy the tour, so I thought, can't be too bad, can it?

Well, I received the package last week. At first everything seemed fine, though I wasn't too impressed with the Imperial Majestic Curise - I felt that they have ships that are too old to be luxurious. I was kinda excited about the trip, until I decided to check and see if I can find more information about the hotel and the package online... Whoa, I was so surprised that the google search would lead me to the usacomplaints.com report and so much more!

Anyways, long story short, upon reading all the report over here, I realized that this package wasn't as good of a deal as I imagined! I don't mind attending time share meeting, but I don't want to be forced to buy a place that I have no interest in, never mind that I may not like Florida enough to want to travel there every year! And from the description, the hotel is plain awful! It wasn't luxurious at all, and based on that I don't feel like going there anymore!

How to get out of it? Thankfully everyone who files a report here at usacomplaints.com give me good insights on how to get a refund! I follow a suggestion from someone that I can return the package within a few days after I received it, and I did find the fine print on the very last page of the reservation forms. So, I mailed back the package the very next day!

I called them a couple of day later to confirm if they've received my package and made my request for a refund, and after being put on hold and be persuded to give them a chance (free upgrade to hotel next to the beach and a letter from the president stating that if I am not happy with their services then I can get a full refund), they offered me a refund! I simply told them that I no longer am interested since the package is not as luxurious as I thought it would be.

It costs me a bit to mail back the package, and it does take an extra phone call to get my refund back, but it is worthy the trouble to make the cancellation now then going through a vacation which most likely would be a vacation from hell! The money spend on mailing the package would be something to remind myself of, to *never* ever accpeted buying any products before having a chance to review or research on it first. If they ask me to make a decision right away, then I know for sure to say, "no!"
