SEAT FEE - Paying for extra room seats when seats are available

I booked a flight for SEPT 12 from San Jose, Costa Rica to Orlando, Fl. I had to pay $35.00 for an
extra room seat as there were no other seats available as per JB Website. When I boarded the plane there were several seats available and the seats behind me (row 11) were completely empty.
Why does your website state seats are booked when they are not and I am forced to pay an extra $35.00.
Now I have a flight for Nov 23 from Olando, Fl to San Jose, Costa Rica and your website is charging me $45.00 extra for a seat (an extrea $10 from last time). I explained the situation to the stewards who advised me to contact JetBlue and complain. I am asking Jetblue to reimburse me the $35.00 extra I had to pay on Sep 12th or credit me for this upcoming flight. This is unethical to the customers who constantly fly.
