Opening my mail, I saw the "$1600 vacation voucher". I thought it looked interesting. We've gotten those "timeshare viewing" deals before, and most of them seemed on the up, so I thought I'd call. That's when I got "Kevin" my ever so helpful vacation salesperson. He described this first class vacation to me, and I started to get excited. We haven't had a real vacation in years. Then he hit me with the price (deposit of over $600) and I balked. Hard. He lowered the price. Lowered it again. I had to respond "within the first phone call" or the deal was void. Finally he got the deposit down to $87 and I decided "what the heck."

They went through the deal process and I was already having second thoughts. When I hung up the phone, I did what I should've done while I was on the phone: I ran to the computer and looked up "Ramada Plaza Resorts". I read story after story of people bilked out of their hard-won money and vacations in roach-laden hotels. I immediately tried calling back to cancel. After a runaround, they told me that I couldn't cancel, but that they'd reduce my vacation to their least expensive. 7 nights in Ft. Lauderdale for $300 something. I said OK.

The package came in the mail and I started reading all the fine print. Sure enough, hidden on one of the pages is the "cancel" option. You have *3* days after receiving the package to send in this written notice of cancellation for a full refund. I sent it in the next day with delivery confirmation.

After they received this, of course they called me and tried to get me to sign up again. I refused. My credit card has been refunded.
