Bally's Fitness Scamming for Money after Membership was ended and paid off with Bally's

I was a Bally's member August - August. I was extremely dissappointed in Bally's. Each location that I visited was dirtier than the next. The staff and 'trainers' were more interested in socializing than working. Often times, the trainers were not as advertised; they were often out of shape and rarely on-time for appointments.
Then in April the bottom fell out. The facilities were so filthy, I simply could no longer use Bally's. It seemed as though the entire organization disitgrated.in July, I paid of the remaining balance of my Bally's membership (done on-line). I did not renew my membership. I was glad to be done with Bally's and had been thinking about going to LA Fitness. But given my experience with Ballys', I decided to check out Curves instead.
I got several calls from Ballys asking me to renew my membership with many different offers, I declined and let them know how dissatisfied I was with the organization. Then, in January, I received a message on my voice mail from LA FITNESS stating that I had an outstanding balance!
I never received a bill or any other corresspondance from Bally's and have never received anything form LA FITNESS. I believe this is a SCAM to extort un-owed monies from former Bally's customers.
BEWARE of LA FITNESS... They are a foul organization with questionable business practices. I dont expect they will be in busness long. Too much competition and many choices for our fitness dollars.
