Dallas Stars - Paul Ahearne
Dallas Stars/Paul Ahearne ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!

Sports

On or about late November my son was asked to try out for the Dallas Stars 13u Selesct baseball team. Within 24 hours after his try out we were emailed a contract to join Paul Ahearnes organization. My son to say the least was so delighted because he wanted to play for the Dallas Stars for his friends played in that organization. We did what we were asked and sent in our paper work. We even went to a practice. And we felt things were going great.

Then all of sudden we did not get an email for a mandatory parent meeting so I knew something was not right. But my sons friend told us where the meeting was so we showed up and Paul Ahearne said he was sorry there must have been an over-site and that we were on the team and to pay our down payment of $500.00 and $90.00 for some uniforms, In which we did. I ask Paul Ahearne three times that I did not feel good about what had happened and how did our paper work get lost when a week earlier we were at a practice and were receiving all emails from coach Jason Lawerence.

So others words I gave him another out if he did not want us on the team. He told me Mr. Gallegos do not read more into this there was just an error in their paper work and that my son was assured a spot on the 13u Dallas Stars.

So then today January 31 I get a call from Paul Ahearne stating that my son was no longer on the team that two of his returning players decided to come back and join his team. So picture this as a parent of a son who loves baseball and as never NOT made a select team that he got kicked off with no time to find another select team.

My son worked hard in saving all his money to buy his own cleats to match his uniform and then Paul Ahearne pulls the rug from under his feet with out any full explanation what so ever. Its all about the money with Paul Ahearne my son was good enough when he thought he was not going to have enough players to fill a 13u team. Then when things changed and some players decided to return he kicked my son off the team that is just plain wrong. Well Mr. Ahearne I have news for you KARMA is a bitch and I gurantee you when it bites you in the butt it will bite you far more then what you did to my 13 year old boy what you did was wrong. So when something does go wrong that you did not expect remember this day and think about what you did to this 13 year old boy.

Then you had the nerve to ask me to drive and return the uniform back to you 30 miles from where i live and that if everything was there you would refund my $ 590.00 deposit. Since when are you given the right to hurt a 13 year old boy and hold a uniform hostage?

If he was not good enough in November to make your club you should have said so and we would have moved on, but you personally stated he was good enough to play for your organization. The 13u team did not even have one full practice so that Jason could see if my son even had any skills. So again not fair and I know life is not always fair but come on. You were given three chances to not have us on the team until your returning players decided to come back then you made your decision. The decision should have been to the returning players that could not make up thier minds if they want to play or not. That they had lost their spots But then again I should have picked up on this for most of this team is new. So right there that should have told me alot of players did not return for what ever reason.

I hope people read this and understand what you and your organiztion really stand for. People that personally know you said they could not believe that you would pull this stunt. And i did talk to some parents who used to play in your organization and they told me if I had spoken to them first they would have advised me to steer away from you and your organization. I guess my fault I should have done better research but I guess thats how we learn. I know now!!!

This is not the major leagues for goodness sake its youth baseball. Since when did the mighty dollar and all about winning get in the way of a boys heart being crushed over a game. If I get one kid to not join your organization I did my job. So parents beware its all about the MONEY!!!
