Owner ripped off college student to make $50

On July 5, at the recommendation of a friend, I signed up for a two-month gym membership at Maple Zone. Directly after registering, I immediately went upstairs to where the gym is located, in a warehouse-type building. My workout was cut short, due to the excess heat upstairs. There was no AC, no fans, and no air ventilation. I went back two more times that week, and still there were no changes.

I went to the office one week after signing up, and asked to have a refund. The facilities are not conducive for my type of workouts. I was told that the owner, Jeff Randazzo, was the only one who can make that decision, and that she would have him call me later that day.

The following day at 1:30pm, when I still have not heard back from Jeff, I called the office to follow-up. Jeff got on the phone, and I explained why his facilities was not a fit for me. Jeff told me that since I was the only person to make this compliant, that he would not be issuing me a refund. I offered to pay for the week that I used the facilities, but please refund me for the rest of my money. He told me no.

I offered to use continue my membership for the rest of July, but to please be refunded for August. Again, he told me no. I finally asked him, "isn't your business concerned with the happiness of its customers." His answer was "No it isn't."

I think as a college student, without a steady income, it is a disgrace that a gym owner could take advantage of me in this way. I am appalled at the ignorance this owner showed towards his own customers.
