I often buy shoes ahead of when I need them, particularly if there is a sale. A clerk at Lady Footlocker at Barton Creek Austin Texas store sold me two different sizes (a size 6 & size 8 in the same box). When I tried to exchange these never worn shoes, since I obviously can not wear two different sizes, I have gotten nothing but the run around to their stores, customer service, phone, email, etc.

I have now spent hours simply trying to get the right size shoe when it was their mistake in the first place. Each store passes the buck to another store, to the web site, to Nike (I still can't figure out how they think Nike has any responsibility for this!). The store will not stand behind its product nor be accountable for its mistake not to mention the staff is uncaring and can't think their way out of a paper bag and their management hides behind call centers and voice mail, never returning multiple calls.

One of the managers had the nerve to blame it on me by saying I should have checked the sizes on the shoes when I got home after buying them! That would not even occur to me since I should be able to assume that they at least have the brains to put two right sized shoes in the box they gave me, esp. For the prices they charge. Another manager laid the blame on me for not keeping the box (even tho I had the receipt and the original price tag with their name on it was still attached to the shoe!). Why in the world should I have to double check everything the store does? Why am I not at liberty to decide when to chuck the box?

Today, when I was in the store, there were 3 staff people and not one customer so it does not look like they are not doing very well as it is. I can't imagine they wouldn't want satisfied customers given the economy today and the fact that not one person was in their store. Maybe everyone else knew about their lousy service and I missed just the memo, but now I know and I will never shop there again!

Do not buy shoes from Lady Footlocker! Their prices are not any better than a competent local store and you will avoid the exasperating service and staff experience at Lady Footlocker. I prefer to deal with accountable, honest and trustworthy merchants, not rip off artists who skirt issues rather than deal with them.

I have received some recent assistance from their.com customer service (not from the stores at all!) so I will update this report if and when I get satisfaction from this area.
