Gold's Gym in Nov began to sell memberships to a new Orcutt location. It was close to my home and I signed up and paid in full in advance for 2 years of membership. When it became apparent in September that the new Gold's Gym location in Orcutt was not going to open, I began to call daily and ask for a refund for my Orcutt Gym membership.
The manager, Brian Avalon, has frequently promised my refund would be processed, but it has not. I filled out their refund request form on Oct, 29. I gave them a month to process it.
I have call daily since the end of November. Esmeralda is the financial processor on site, but claims she can not help me with out the approval of Brian Avalon. Brian has infrequent hours and is difficult to get a hold of.
I paid $299 in Nov for services that have never been and will never be rendered. I have not received any communication from Gold's Gym EVER regarding the status of the opening (Or rather NON OPENING) of the Orcutt Gold's Gym.
All of my information regarding the refund process has come from my personal visits to the Gym to get the required paperwork to process my refund and to request my refund or from my attempts to contact the gym daily over the phone. I've read in the local papers that other Orcutt Gym members have been treated the same way.
Members who signed up for Gold's Gym Orcutt should have been refunded automatically and NOT have to BEG for a refund. John Mahli has a moral and legal obligation to refund money for services not rendered.
