Shady, decietful, unorganized, out to ruin credit, fraud

My wife bought me a one year membership at Fitness 1 gym for our anniversary. The month that the membership was up my wife called to inform the gym that we were not interested in renewing due to financial strife and the possibility of moving out of state. A woman told her to put it in writing and that the last draft would be in November of 07'.

We continue to be billed. We call ASF and stay on hold for over 20 minutes. My wife spoke to a man named Cody, he informed her that there was no record of cancellation eventhough she was informed by a recording that the conversation was being recorded for training purposes. He then gave her new instructions on how to cancel.

We have filled out their specific form and await for a response. We are not optimistic since we have read many complaints with our similar situation with no ending in site. We cannot afford to pay for a service that I am not receiving. I cannot afford to have bad credit as a result.
