Deceptive Advertising of Mountaineering and Sports Gea

My buddy was contacted by this individual who claimed that she had some top quality mountaineering and biking equipment for sale at reasonable prices.

After speaking with her about what she had and where it came from, we drove from Bend, Oregon, to the Seattle, Washington, area to see the gear, which was supposedly owned by her and her husband. She said the two of them were splitting and she was selling the gear for them. She also claimed that she was selling gear for a friend who was no longer using it.

When we got there, after driving for several hours, we found the equipment to be old and not the top name brands she claimed them to be. What she did have was in rough shape, not how she'd described the condition. Several things she said were for sale weren't even there.

The two of us ended up buying nothing but, instead, wasting the whole day and an entire tank of gas because she wasn't honest about the bike and mountain gear.
