24-hour Fitness
And Corporate membership impossible to cancel... And they lie!

Very long story short... Joined 24-hour fitness this past summer (May), myself, my husband, and our two children. Although my son was only 11, they bumped his birthyear up on paper so that he appeared 12 and could then be a member.

I paid for a trainer for all three of us ($100 each, for five sessions). After finally being able to find someone that could work with our schedule (10:00 am), my son and I both used our sessions. My daughter, on the other hand, was in summer school and unable to use hers right away. When summer school ended, they assigned her to a trainer. The trainer's house burned down, so they rescheduled her... instead of finding her a new trainer. After a long time of trying to actually get her sessions used, we were unsuccessful, and school was starting again, so she was never able to use those paid-for sessions. Again, long story short, they told corporate that my daughter used one session (she did NOT) and therefore there was no way to credit us that $100.00.

I have been trying to cancel my membership since July. I have called both phone numbers (800-432-6348 and 866-308-8179) and gone to the gym itself, to no avail. No one is "able to cancel my account at this time." They did, however, place my account on "hold" for $7.00 per member, per month. Now today I look at my bank statement, and after two months of being charged only $7.00 each, we are being charged full price once more. I have no idea why, and neither do they. They said they will look into it, and if they find they have made an error, they will credit my account back the erroneous charges and cancel my membership... We will see...
