Sterling Bowl
Bowling alley discriminated against me for not being a league bowler, bumped me down the waiting list!

I have bowled at Sterling Bowl fairly regularly for the past few months. On Sunday nights, the bowling alley offers dollar games since the league bowlers use only about half the lanes. When I arrived and was told the wait would be about 20 minutes, I was not surprised. However, as I waited I noticed things were taking longer than usual and after about 25 minutes asked where my position in line was.

It seemed like I was being bumped down the list, since several lanes had opened and been filled. I was told that I was the third in line, and proceeded to watch which lanes opened (it is possible to tell which bowlers are finished by seeing the screens change to black and the lanes turn dark).

After 3 lanes were closed, I went back to the front desk and realized the woman running the front desk was giving my lane to another bowler, which was clear favoritism. He was probably a league bowler from another night. I didn't think much of it, but instead asked when my lane would be up (by now it had been more than 40 minutes). I was told lane 13 didn't have long to go, and that I would definitely get to use that one.

Well, lane 13 finally gets finished and the lady at the front desk says I can't use that one. The reason she gave was that the league bowler on lane 12 complained about the previous bowler on lane 13 and the front desk woman had to "protect her league bowlers." So, she told us to wait for lane 24.

After substantially more waiting, lane 24 finally finished but again we were not alllowed to bowl; the front desk lady let them purchase more games despite the excessive wait. She told us we would not be able to bowl there either, and we should wait for another lane. Since it was quite clear that she was not about to lift a finger to be fair, I proceeded to leave the bowling alley.
