Club will not allow members to cancel, ripoff

We tried to give this company 2 months notice that we were leaving on our 1 year anniversary. We figured we would go in there during the start of our 10th month and tell them in 60 days, when it hits our 1 year anniversary we are leaving.

We only signed a 1 year contract not 14 or 15 month contract like these people are making us pay for. They told us they are not accepting our notice and we had to come back exactly on our 1 year. We did, except when we got there we were told billing wasnt in.

We tried calling them 3 x and they said we had to come in but when we go in sales is out or billing isnt in. This is very hard for a working person to cater to their hours. Its not our fault these poeple take 3 hour lunch breaks or hide under their desk or whatever they are doing to not make themsleves available.

Finally the manager said to come in when she is there on Labor Day. We had to go in between 10:00 am - 2:00pm Labor day of this year. We stopped what we were doing on Labor day, excused ourselves from our guests for a little while and went over to the gym to find no one was in the parking lot.

We have been going back and forth with this company now for over a month. The sad part is we dont even go in there to work out anymore because a new state of the art health club opened up and we go there and are very happy with this new place. A lot of people are trying to leave this gym to go over to the new ultra modern one and now ocean club is scamming people left and right to get them to stay.
